History Arrow Diversified Tooling, Inc. has a 13,000 square foot facility in Ellington, CT serving a wide range of industries - from aerospace to sports equipment - as a "one-stop" job shop in the development of tooling and production of parts. Arrow was founded in 1970 by Willi Weber and Ron Trueb who (as Journeymen Pattern Makers and business partners) developed the company to principally produce patterns, models, prototypes, and lay-up molds. The business was originally named Arrow Pattern & Model Company, Inc. After beginning in a 2,000 square foot rental space, they were able to build and move Arrow into their own 5,000 square foot building in 1976. In 1989, a CNC machining facility was added to Arrow which increased the work area to 10,000 square feet and also enabled the company to develop additional capabilities including form tools, fixtures and gages. The company name was changed to Arrow Diversified Tooling, Inc. in 1993, in order to reflect the wide-ranging variety of services that Arrow provides, and we have continued to progress. Arrow received a quality rating upgrade in 1996 as an aircraft approved parts manufacturer. Then in 1997 a precision sheet metal parts fabrication area (press room) was added.
All of the employees at Arrow were deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend, Willi Weber who passed away in April 2001, after a long and courageous battle against colon cancer. Well prior to his diagnosis, Willi focused on the future of Arrow, and its ability to provide high quality service that our customers have relied on for over thirty-two years. As such, Willi put in place a management team from within Arrow choosing individuals who have excelled at their positions for many years. Today, Arrow has 17 employees and is headed by our President David Trench, an employee of twenty-two years and former plant manager Our services include but are not limited to, CNC contour programming, CNC contour milling, CNC turning, tools, dies, molds, gages, fixtures, sheet metal stamping and forming, specialized production milling, production turning and EDM wire cutting. We also produce foundry patterns, models, and cast prototype plastic parts. Since 1970, Arrow has maintained a strong reputation among our customers as a high-quality, reliable source to turn to when timeliness and caliber of work are of importance. 17
